Katheryn Marie Dencklau

Katheryn Marie Dencklau, 75, Fort Dodge, died on Thursday, November 20, 2003, at Greenleaf Health Care. Visitation will be Sunday, November 23, 2003, from 2 until 6 p.m. at Bruce’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2003, at St. John’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bill VanNostrand officiating. Burial be held in the Colfax Township Cemetery.

Katheryn was born February 9, 1928, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Theodore and Veronica (Beightol) Maier. During high school she was an active participant in all sporting activities and was honored the Champion Table Tennis player title. In 1948, Katheryn took Robert Dencklau’s hand in marriage on August 8th in Fort Dodge. Katheryn was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She was a former member of the Ladies Aid and even held office as the President for several years.

Katheryn’s memories will be cherished by her husband of more than 55 years, Robert; 3 sons, Robert W. (Pam) Dencklau of Walker, LA, Rodney R. Dencklau of Canon Falls, MN, Ross B. (Lisa) of Sonoma, CA; 2 brothers, Theodore and Bruce Maier; 7 Grandchildren, Robyn, Jennifer, Wendy, Brian, Rusty, Ashlee, and Mathew, one step grandchild, Jay and wife Christy, 3 Great Grandchildren, Courtney, Melissa, and Kyle, and five step great grandchildren, Taylor, Landon, Noah, Tristan, and Kyleigh.

Katheryn was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, Madonna Cervene.
