Gladys D. Stewart
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2004 at Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Interment will follow in the Fort Dodge Memorial Park Cemetery . Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the funeral home. Gladys was born September 26, 1927 the daughter of Albert and Edith (Blake) Stewart in Webster County. She later graduated from Callender High School. Gladys was a fantastic baker of cookies and was always known to have the ice cream pail of cookies available to those who needed a snack. She enjoyed doing cross word puzzles, playing bingo, and going for her monthly dinner meetings with the Woolworth gang. Gladys also enjoyed doing embroidery, quilting, and making carpet rag rugs. She was also an avid collector of butterflies. Before Gladys became ill she was a member of the First Morning Mall Walkers group. Gladys is survived by her two brothers, Donald L. (Goldie) Stewart of Fort Dodge, Ernest (Shirley) Stewart of Fort Dodge, five sisters, Dorothy Babian of Athens, TN, Elsie Swanson of Callender, Lois (Cecil) Dorothy of Fort Dodge, Cristelle (Ed) Essig of Fort Dodge, and Marlene (Larry) Garmon of Swisher, IA, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Seibert and Earl, one sister, Fern Whannell, one niece and one great niece.
