Helen Porter

Helen Marjorie Porter, 86, of Fort Dodge, died Thursday, September 15, 2005 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center with the Rev. Roger Kurtenback officiating. Interment will follow in the North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Helen M. Porter was born November 9, 1918 the daughter of Orlando and Grace (Fisher) Richards in Moorland, IA. She attended school in Moorland and later worked at the Tobin Packing Co. On March 1, 1944 Helen was united in marriage to Wilbur Porter in Jackson, MN. Helen was proud of being a housewife, mother, and later a foster grandparent. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Helen was always enthusiastic and ready for a good game of cards.

Surviving are her sons; Robert Porter and James (Marcia) Porter of Ft. Collins, CO, granddaughters; Michelle Porter, and Melissa (Mark) Josewski, three great grandchildren; Brianna and Brandon Josewski and Cortney Porter. Helen is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wilbur, and two brothers; Vernon and James Richards.
