Gary L. Meier, Sr., 64, of Clare, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 at the Tompkins Memorial Health Center.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at the Trinity Lutheran Church 1446 Johnson Ave., Fort Dodge.  Inurnment will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. 

Gary L. Meier was born March 5, 1941 the son of Earl and Irene (Suhrbier) Meier in Iowa City, IA.  In 1968 Gary was united in marriage to Sharon Daisy in LuVerne, IA.  Gary drove truck for many years for the Northwest Limestone Co.

Gary loved the games of golf, bowling, and going fishing.  Gary enjoyed numerous card games and watching NASCAR races.  He always looked forward to the laughter of his grandchildren.  One of Gary’s little hobbies was playing the scratch lotto tickets.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Those thankful for having shared in Gary’s life include his wife; Sharon, sons; Gary Jr. (Correna) Meier of Gilmore City, Wayne (Marina) Meier of Kanawha, three sisters; Linda Buckley of Eagle Grove, Maxine (Gene) Lange of Pocahontas, Earlajean O’Neill of Rolfe, three brothers; Ronnie (Nancy) Meier of Gilmore City, Mike (Kathy) Meier of Gilmore City, Donald Meier of Bode, and seven grandchildren; Amanda, Emily, Gary III, Michele, Ryan, Krystal, and Josh.

Mr. Meier was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant daughter, Mechell.
