Virginia ‘Jimmy’ Holmstrom, 96, formerly of Fort Dodge, died Monday, October 8, 2007 at the St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford, IL.
           
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2007 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in the North Lawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 1 until 2 p.m. on Friday.
           
Jimmy was born July 28, 1911 in Alden, Iowa the daughter of Walter and Rachel Quante.  After moving to Fort Dodge Jimmy began her education which required her to make the mile and a half journey to school.  She later graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1930 and continued her education at Illinois Masonic Nursing in Chicago graduating in 1932.
           
In 1936 Jimmy was united in marriage to Martin Donald Holmstrom in Milbank, SD.  The couple was married for 59 years.  Jimmy worked in the family grocery store for a few years before going to work at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge.
           
Jimmy is survived by her children; Boyd Holmstrom and Vicky Schluckebier as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
           
Mrs. Holmstrom was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don in 1995, one sister; Violet, and a grandson; Scott Michael Holmstrom.
