Frances I. Oliver, 87 of Fort Dodge, died Saturday March 28, 2009 at Careage of Fort Dodge.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in the North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home.

Frances was born June 10, 1921 the daughter of William and Ida (Laabs) Schutt in Burt, Iowa. On October 1, 1938 Frances was united in marriage to Weldon McFarland in Webster City, Iowa. Following Weldon’s death Frances was later married to Frank Oliver.

Over the years she had been employed at the Royal 400 and the Glove Factory. Frances was extremely proud of being a Foster Grandparent and truly loved being around children. She enjoyed tending to both her vegetable and flower gardens and working on numerous types of craft projects. Frances was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Those thankful for having shared in Frances’ life include her children; Roger McFarland of Boxholm, IA, Wayne (Cindy) McFarland of Des Moines, IA, Sandra (Ron) Omann of Omaha, NE, 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 4 nieces and 2 nephews.

Mrs. Oliver was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son; Kenneth, four sisters; Amanda, Martha, Viola, Ella and one brother; Victor Schutt.
