Jamie Johnson

Jamie Johnson

Owner

Jamie Johnson, owner of Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa has been working in the funeral service industry for the past 23 years. Jamie grew up in Lehigh and graduated from Southeast Webster High School in Burnside in 2000. She continued her education at Iowa Central Community College. Jamie is a 2003 graduate from the Mortuary Science Program at Kansas City Kansas Community College. She served her apprenticeship at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home in Colorado, before moving back to Iowa and joining the staff at Major Erickson Funeral Home in Mason City, where she worked from 2006– 2018. On January 1, 2019, Jamie became the managing partner at Bruce Funeral Home.  In 2019, she became a member of Fort Dodge Noon Sertoma where she served as past President.  Jamie resides outside of Otho with her husband Bruce and their two children: Evelyn and Aksel. Jamie is excited to be back in her home area.

Jayme E. Lentz, owner of Historic Bruce Funeral Home, has been working in the funeral service industry for over 20 years. Jayme was born and raised in Emmetsburg, where he graduated from High School in 1991. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army as a medical specialist. He served at Fort Riley, Kansas, where he obtained the rank of sergeant and was awarded the Expert Field Medical Badge. 


Jayme received an Associate of Arts degree from Iowa Western Community College in 1997, Associated of Applied Mortuary Science from Carl Sandburg College in 2000, and a Bachelor of Elected Studies from St. Ambrose University in 2001. In 1999 he began working at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport where he served his apprenticeship. In August of 2001 Jayme joined Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls. On January 1, 2006 Jayme and Melissa purchased Wilson Funeral Homes of Algona, Burt and Livermore. On July 1, 2014 Jayme and Melissa purchased Schuchert Funeral Home and Crematory in Spirit Lake. Jayme, Melissa and their children, Logan and Maya live in Algona and are members of Trinity Lutheran Church. They are excited to be part of Historic Bruce Funeral Home and look forward to serving families in the Fort Dodge area.
