Fort Dodge

Monica “Mony” Angeles, 49, of Fort Dodge, IA, passed away peacefully at 4:24 PM on Friday, November 18, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, IA with family by her side.  Her death was sudden and unexpected by her family creating a hole in our family that we will be unable to fill.  A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 28, 2022, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2501 6th Avenue North, with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating.  The Mass will be livestreamed via the Historic Bruce Funeral Home Facebook page.  A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, 923 1st Avenue South, with a Rosary service at 6:00 PM by Deacon Ed Albright.  The gathering will continue at the church one hour prior to the service.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.

Mony was born on July 26, 1973, in Puruagua, Guanajuato Mexico to Petra Garnica-Rodriguez, and attended schooling in Puruagua, Guanajuato Mexico as well.  She was united in marriage to Jose-Luis Angeles Torres on December 22, 2002, also in Puruagua, Guanajuato Mexico.  Shortly after being married the couple moved to Fort Dodge and established their home and started their family here, having 3 children:  Max, 20, David, 18 and Alejandra, 17.  Whom were what made her the happiest.  Mony lived her life to the fullest by surrounding herself with her family and friends.  She loved keeping in touch with family and friends and was known for her many family and friend get togethers she would host in her home.  Mony made many friends with her ability to reach people in a positive way.  She had a love for the holidays and making them special each year for the people she loved and her motivation in her life which were Max, David, and Alejandra.  Mony was a selfless person and made sure that Jose “or her Jushe” and children were taken care of.  There was nothing that Mony would not do to make sure her children knew she loved them like no other.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband:  Jose; children:  Max, David and Alejandra; brothers:  Carlos (Karrie) Garnica, all of Fort Dodge, Florentino (Patricia) Garnica, Javier Garnica, Marco Garnica of Mexico; sister: Berta (Javier) Garnica of Mexico; nephews:  Anthony Garnica, Christion Garnica and Tommy Garnica, all of Fort Dodge; nieces:  Perla and Pamela Calderon of Mexico, Torriana and Jahleeyah Garnica of Fort Dodge; and other nephews and niece in Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother:  Petra Garnica on October 27, 2022; and one brother:  Jose-Luis Garnica.

Monica “Mony” Angeles, 49, de Fort Dodge, IA, fallecio pacificamente a las 4:24 PM en Viernes, 18 de Noviembre, 2022, en la hospital de University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics en Iowa City, IA con su familia a su lado.  Su Muerte fue repentina e inesperada por su familia creando un agujero en nuestra familia que seremos incapces de llenar.

Mony nacio el 26 de Julio de 1973, en Puruagua, Guanajuato Mexico a Petra Garnica-Rodriguez, y asistio a la escuela en Puruagua, Guanajuato Mexico tambien. Ella estaba unida en matrimonio a Jose-Luis Angeles Torres el 22 dicimebre de 2002, Tambien en Puruagua, Guanajuato Mexico.  Poco despues de casarse, la pareja se mudo a Fort Dodge, IA y establecieron su hogar y comenzaron su familia aqui, teniendo 3 hijos :  Max, 20, David, 18 and Alejandra, 17 quienes fueron los que la hicieron mas feliz.  Mony vivio su vida al maximo al rodearse de su famlia y amigos.  Le encantaba estar en contacto con familiars y amigos y era conocida por sus muchas reuniones familiars y de amigos ella hospedaria en su casa. Mony hizo muchos amigos con su habilidad para llegar a la gente de una manera positiva.  Ella amaba los dias festivos y las hacia especiales cada ano para la gente que ella amaba y su motivacion en la vida que eran Max, David, y Alejandra. Mony se aseguro de que Jose “o su Jushe” y los ninos fueran atendidos.  No habia nada que Mony no haria para asegurarse de que sus hijos supieran que ella los amaba como nadie mas.

Los que quedan para atesorar su memoria es su esposo:  Jose; hijos:  Max, David and Alejandra; hermanos:  Carlos (y esposa Karrie) Garnica, de Fort Dodge, IA, Florentino (y esposa Patricia) Garnica, Javier Garnica, Marco Garnica de Mexico; sister: Berta ( y su esposo Javier) Garnica of Mexico; sobrinos:  Anthony Garnica, Christion Garnica and Tommy Garnica, todos de Fort Dodge; sobrinas:  Perla and Pamela Calderon de Mexico, Torriana and Jahleeyah Garnica de Fort Dodge; y otros sobrinos y sobrinas en Mexico.

Le precedieron en la Muerte de su amada madre:  Petra Garnica el 27 de octubre de 2022; y un hermano:  Jose-Luis Garnica.
