Alice Hult

Alice Hult, 95, (Mrs. Milton Hult) beloved sister, aunt and friend found peace and eternal life on December 20, 2003, after a courageous battle for her independence. Alice died at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic, Iowa City, IA.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2003, at the Heritage Chapel on the 3rd Floor at Friendship Heaven with the Rev. Ron Kitterman officiating.

Alice Cooley Hult, was the wife of Milton C. Hult, deceased, former President of the National Dairy Council, and an International Dairy Industry leader. Alice was born in Palatine, IL, January 21, 1908, the daughter of Frank Arthur Cooley and Agnes Danielsen Cooley, (both deceased). She is survived by her sisters, Kathryn Cooley Hughes of Pasadena, CA; and Barbara J. Wiewel, (Mrs. Patrick), Nisswa, MN. She is preceded in death by her brothers Clark A. Cooley, Frank A. Cooley Jr. and her sisters, Annabelle Cooley and Dorothy C. Thompson.

Mrs. Hult was a graduate of Fort Dodge High School, and Junior College; a graduate of Iowa State University, Ames, IA; a graduate dietitian of Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago. She was a member of National Psychology Honorary Psi Chi, and a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, and a member of PEO.

Mrs. Hult was a Home Economics Technician for Nash Kelvenator from 1934-1938; Director of Home Economics National Dairy Council from 1938-1948, and assumed the position of Director of Program Services 1948-1968, when she retired.

Mrs. Hult was a former President of the Illinois Home Economics Association and former Chairman of the Chicago Home Economists in Business. She was also active in the American Women in Radio and Television. She served as a former member of the Deans Committee of Home Economics, Iowa State University.

Mrs. Hult returned to Fort Dodge after the death of her husband in the fall of 1990, and was a resident of Friendship Haven-West.

In celebration of her life, memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
