Alice M. Wymer, 84, died Thursday, May 10th, 2012 at Tompkins Memorial Health Center, Friendship Haven.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 17th, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. at Bruce-Graham Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 18th, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Reverend David Grindberg and the Reverend Robert Henkelman officiating. The family requests no flowers or plants due to allergies.

Alice Merkle was born July 18th, 1927 in Algona, IA. She grew up on the family farm near LuVerne, IA. Alice attended school in LuVerne. She was united in marriage to Edward J. Wymer on October 8th, 1949 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They made their home in Fort Dodge. For many years she worked for the Younkers Department store and Trinity Regional Hospital before retiring. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In her earlier years she enjoyed playing the Organ for Church. When she moved to Friendship Haven in 2003, she always made it a point to talk with her daughter on a daily basis.

Those thankful for having shared in Alices life include her daughter Cheryl (Curt) Swedlund, Grandson Jason Swedlund, Sister Fran (Don) Deal and a niece and nephew.

Mrs. Wymer was preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Leah Merkle, her husband Ed and infant sister Anita.
