Memorial Services for Anita “Joanne” Jacobson 83 of Manson will be Monday, May 9, 2016 at 10:30 at the Congregational United Church of Christ Church in Manson with Pastor William Howie officiating. Burial at a later date, will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Jolley, Iowa.

 

Anita “Joanne” Jacobson, daughter of Charles and Zelma (Stevens) Armstrong was born October 19, 1932 in Calhoun County near Knoke. She grew up in the Pomeroy area and graduated from Pomeroy High School. Joanne married Norman Jacobson and lived and worked in the Des Moines area for many years. She was employed at Knox Cambell Insurance in Des Moines and also worked for Allied Insurance. The couple retired and moved to Gulf Shore Alabama. Several winters they wintered in the Bahama's while living their on the yacht. The couple returned to Winterset, Iowa and lived for several years. After Norman's death, Joanne moved to Manson, Iowa where she has resided for the past few years.

 

On May 3, 2016, Anita Joanne Jacobson died at the Pomeroy Care Center at the age of 83.

 

Joanne is survived by her daughter, Michelle Thomson of Osage Beach, Missouri, three grandchildren, and sisters; Donna Burke of Pomeroy, Caroline Armstrong of Mission, TX, and Colleen Lines of Pomeroy.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Mike, siblings; Opal Dumdei, Delmar Armstrong, Phyllis Schlafge, and LeRoy Armstrong.
