Aretta E. Conrad

Aretta E. Conrad, 82, of Fort Dodge, died Thursday, May 12, 2005 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2005 at the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with The Rev. Stephen M. Hall officiating. There will be no visitation.

Aretta was born December 31, 1922 in rural Dayton, IA the daughter of Chancy and Myrtle (Scott) Davis. Her family moved to the Callender area in 1935 with Aretta graduating from Callender High School in 1940. In 1948 she moved to Fort Dodge were she has resided since. On June 10, 1951 Aretta was united in marriage to Robert Andrew Conrad in Elk Point, SD. To this union four children were born.

Over the years Aretta was employed by different places including; Uncle John’s Grocery, Marso Rodenborn, the downtown Woolworth, and retired from the Trinity Regional Hospital in 1988. Aretta was a member of the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, and the Lioness Club.

Those thankful for having shared in Aretta’s life include; her two sons, Dell (Marlene) Conrad of Steamboat Rock, IA, Dana (Veda) Conrad of Winterset, IA, two daughters, Robalynn (Roger) Daisy of Berryville, Ark, Vickie (Merle) Johnson of Fort Dodge, two sisters in law, Goldie Davis and Ann Conrad both of Fort Dodge, five grandchildren, three step grandchildren, one great grandson, three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Conrad was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Duane Davis.
