Avon Doris Olson

Memorial Services for Avon D. Olson 79 of Fort Dodge will be Friday, July 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.  Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery.

Avon Doris Olson was born December 27, 1934 in Stratford, Iowa to James and Helen(Root) Haines.  She attended Lehigh Public Schools.  On August 24, 1958 she was united in marriage to Earl Olson in Fort Dodge, Iowa.  The couple settled in Fort Dodge where they have lived since.  Avon enjoyed gardening and especially bowling.  Avon died at her home on July 18, 2014 at the age of 79 years.

She is survived by her husband Earl Olson of Fort Dodge, son Earl Olson Jr. of Fort Dodge,  daughters; Julie (Russ) Sladky of Cedar Creek, NE and Colleen Holcombe of Fort Dodge, four grandchildren; Leann, Allison, Lane and Madison.  She is also survived by seven siblings, William, Maralyn, James, Sally, Evelyn, Betty, and Eldon.  Avon was preceded in death by her parents, son David, daughter Avon, four siblings, Liz, John, Leroy and Richard.
