Bernice Irene Stensrud

Funeral Services for Bernice I. Stensrud 97 of Urbandale formerly of Woolstock will be Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be from noon until time of service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Dodge. Bernice died at the Urbandale Health Care Center on March 3, 2017.

Bernice Irene Schutt Stensrud was born June 8, 1919 in Woolstock, Iowa to Joseph and Anna Schutt. She grew up in Woolstock and attended Woolstock High School. She was united in marriage to Burton Stensrud on March 3, 1959. She spent the majority of her life in Woolstock, Iowa until moving to Urbandale in 2013. She was a member of the Military Order of the Cootie Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, bowling and gardening.

She is survived by her children; Dennis Tracy, Gary (Alice) Tracy, Bart (Rebecca) Stensrud, and David (Lisa) Stensrud. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Denise Quimby, Shane Tracy, Robin Dixon, Kelly Tracy, Lee Linn, Tina Kiefer, Charleen Hinderaker, Cameron Tracy, and Mikkel Stensrud, 13 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, all her siblings; Vena Schultz, Evelyn Schaumburg, Marie Borders, Ernest Schutt and Sonny Schutt, and two children; Sharon Linn and Roger Tracy.
