Brenda L. Porter

Brenda L. Porter, 67, of Otho, IA died Monday, April 25, 2022, at her home.  Private family services will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to the family.

Brenda was born November 14, 1954, in Castine, ME, the daughter of Arnold E. and Eleanor L. (Parker) Steele.  She attended school in Bradford, RI.  On December 16, 2000, she was united in marriage to Cory M. Porter in Livermore, IA.  Brenda enjoyed spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed online gaming, laughing, tending to her indoor plants, gardening (especially yellow roses – in memory of her mother), and taking care of her 2 dogs:  Pickles and Spyke.  They were her “boys”.  Brenda was full of life and took one day at a time.  She was very creative and took pride in her outdoor decorations.  Brenda found great joy in making others smile and always had a kind word.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 21 years:  Cory Porter of Otho; 3 children:  Bonnie Conway and husband Darrell of Mason City, IA, Robert Martin Jr. and wife Kimberly of Garner, IA and Justin Jodoin and wife  Rebecca of Storm Lake, IA;  4 grandchildren:  Alex, Caleb, Austin and Oliver; many great grandchildren;  4 siblings:  David Joyce and wife Sheila of Maine, Joyce Eriksen of Rowan, IA, Kevin Steele and wife Nora of Yellville, AR, and Stephen Steele and wife Tracy of Fort Mohave, AZ; mother-in-law:  Pam Porter of Fort Dodge; father-in-law:  Mike Porter and wife Penny of Livermore; and sister-in-law:  Dawn Thompson and husband Don of Humboldt, IA.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 children:  Danny “June Bug” Langston and Christopher Schultz; and a brother:  Arnold “Arnie” Steele Jr.
