Brian D. Strand, 65, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Monday, May 5, 2025, at his home. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge. 

Brian was born June 17, 1959, in Seattle, WA, the son of Ralph and Glenna (Shaver) Strand. He graduated from Marysville Pilchuck High School in Washington in 1977. He also served in the U.S. Navy in 1977. Brian then continued his education earning his BA degree. On September 5, 2000, he was united in marriage to Stephanie (Binning) in Everett, WA. In his younger years, he was a dedicated member of search and rescue ski patrol. He also worked for Boeing, Trucking, EMS, Fire Department and Corrections. He retired from the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility on August 31, 2024. This commitment to helping others was a hallmark of his character, as he demonstrated time and again his willingness to put others before himself. He had a love for storytelling and visiting with people. Brian was a man deeply rooted in family values and exemplified what it meant to be family-oriented. His kind and friendly nature made him a cherished co-worker and a beloved friend. Known for his generosity, he was the type of person who would give anyone the shirt off his back, always ready to extend a helping hand to those in need. An avid enthusiast of the great outdoors, Brian found joy in gardening, caring for his lawn, and immersing himself in nature. He was also known for his love of golf. Whether he was shooting for fun or engaging in a conversation with a neighbor, Brian's genuine and thoughtful demeanor left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. He was an amazing man who made a significant impact in the lives of many.

Brian is survived by his wife of 24 years: Stephanie Strand of Fort Dodge; 4 children: Sarah Cruice and husband James of Tucson, AZ, Melissa Stark of Fort Dodge, Raeanne Endy of Fort Dodge and Sean Strand of Fort Dodge; 3 grandchildren: Johnny, Dayton and Kaison; and one granddaughter on the way: Sage; his mother: Glenna Attrell and husband Cliff of San Manuel, AZ; 3 siblings: Tammy Whitebear and husband Jeff of San Manuel, Melanie Miller and husband Dale of Edmonds, WA and Brent Strand and wife Becky of San Manuel. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, and great nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father: Ralph Strand.
