C. Arlene Engels

Mass of Christian burial for C. Arlene Engels, 88 of Fort Dodge will be Friday, May 30, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fort Dodge with Father Dan Rupp officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Dodge.  She died Tuesday at her home in Fort Dodge.

C. Arlene Harris Engels was born January 26, 1926 at Duncombe, Iowa.  She was the daughter of John L. and Sylvia (Ball) Harris.  She attended grade school in rural Duncombe and graduated from Lincoln High School, Webster City, Iowa in 1943.  In April 1944, she was united in marriage to Richard M. Engels of Vincent, Iowa.  The couple later divorced.  Arlene was a former member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Rosary Society and a current member of Holy Trinity Parish.  She was a volunteer at Trinity Regional Medical Center and R.S.V. P.

Arlene is survived by son Larry Engels of Fort Dodge, daughter Debra Estlund of Fort Dodge, son Kevin Engels and wife Kim of Cedar Falls and daughter Lori Passow and husband Jon of Clare; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister Doris Sanck of Fort Dodge and her brother Donn Harris (Louise) of New Hampton.  She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Wilma.
