Carl Brinkema

Carl E. Brinkema, age 85, a life-long resident of Kamrar, Iowa, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. The family has chosen an immediate cremation service.

A Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 3rd at the Community Church of Kamrar with the Reverend Peter Mueller officiating.

Carl worked as a carpenter and painter for Horne Construction Company for 24 years retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Kamrar Community Church, Lion's Club, Fire Department and American Legion. Carl enjoyed parades the county fair, playing cards and visiting with friends.

Carl is survived by his wife, Patricia; and children, Jeffrey and Jennie both of Kamrar and James of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Edward; and a sister, Elizabeth Badgett.
