Carolyn Louise Kraft, 88, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, 923 1st Avenue South, with Pastor Gary Kraft Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Historic Bruce Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Reading Cemetery in Farnhamville, IA. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.
Carolyn was born July 30, 1937, in Calhoun Twp., IA, the daughter of Keith E. and Doris L. (Butler) Kennedy. She graduated from Somers High School in 1955. On June 19, 1955, she was united in marriage to Lyle E. Kraft in Farnhamville. Over the years, Carolyn worked as a telephone operator and a secretary for G.A.B. She was a homemaker who enjoyed mowing, taking care of her flowers, being in the kitchen (baking), hymns, piano and QVC shopping. She also enjoyed bible study and was a past member of First Assembly of God Church, Berean Church, Northfield Church of Christ and the Otho-Kalo Community Church. Above all, she loved her grandchildren and hosting family events. Carolyn was a lovable person and a perfectionist. She mastered her gift-wrapping skills and kept herself organized with post-it notes ‘everywhere’! She was also a pen fanatic and had quite the collection.
Carolyn is survived by 3 sons: Marty Kraft of Lehigh, IA, Monte Kraft and wife Tami of Fort Dodge and Mitch Kraft and wife Shelly of Fort Dodge; 9 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband in 2025.
