Carolyn Lyon

Carolyn Lyon, 70, of Palmer, IA, died Thursday, September 10, 2026. No services are scheduled. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge. 

Carolyn S. was born January 11, 1956, in Iowa, the daughter of Charles S. and Eleanor (Stanberg) Lyon. She attended school in Manson, IA. Carolyn worked various jobs over the years, but her biggest passion was being a daycare provider. She loved the children so much. Carolyn also worked in the school lunchroom and dressed up for holidays for the children (Minnie Mouse, Easter Bunny & ghost). She was also a big animal lover. Carolyn had multiple dogs and cats over the years and most recently enjoyed taking care of her dog “Minnie”. She also enjoyed spending time with her nieces & nephews. She was a big fan of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.

Carolyn is survived by 8 siblings: Irene Bothwell of Eagle Grove, IA, Steve Lyon and wife Deb of Redwood Falls, MN, Dale Lyon and wife Ellen of Pomeroy, IA, Joan Helmers and husband Doug of Palmer, Linda Anderson and husband Robert of Palmer, Kathy Johnson of Hardy, IA, John Lyon and wife Roben of Palmer and Dennis Lyon and wife Rhonda of Pocahontas, IA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother: Gary Lyon.
