Charles Bernard Mattice,85, of Webster City died Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Crestview Manor in Webster City.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center with services at 10:30 am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Rev. Brad Pelzel officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Corpus Christi Cemetery. VFW Post 1856 will be presenting the flag. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 15th from 4pm to 8pm at Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

Charles was born August 13, 1919 to Charles L. and Vera G. (Brady) Mattice in Fort Dodge. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School and then went on to Loras College. On May 25, 1940 he was united in marriage to Elaine Kathleen Rolland in Fort Dodge. Charles was inducted into the United States Coast Guard in June 1942 with the rank of COX. On August 15, 1945 he was honorably discharged earning the Good Conduct Medal. Charles was an appliance manager with Sears Roebuck and Co for many years. Charles was an avid reader and devoted many hours volunteering for Trinity Regional Medical Center. He loved traveling to different countries and states with his late wife, Elaine. Taking Elaine out dancing was a memory that Charles spoke of often. Charles enjoyed golfing and bowling and playing cards.

Charles’s memory will be cherished by his 2 children; Karen Sue (John) Youngblut of Clayton, IA and their child, Christian (Lori) Youngblut of MN and their children McKay and Tate Youngblut; Patricia Lynn Tedford of Escondido, CA and her children Scott Michael Tedford and his children Sean M. and Shelby Lynn Tedford; his late daughter Pamela (Dennis Sr.) Bockert and their children Dennis Jr. and Stephanie Meyers.

Charles is preceded in death by his wife Elaine, special friend, Dorothy Peterson, parents, 1 daughter, Pamela Kathleen Bockert and one grandson, Adam Youngblut.
