Charles R Ball

Charles Robert “Bob” Ball, 83, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018, after a brief battle with cancer.

Per Bobs wishes a celebration of life service will be held on October 12, 2018 from 1pm – 3pm at Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge, IA.

Bob was born February 14, 1935, in Fort Dodge, IA. to Charles “Leonard” and Ruth (Royster) Ball of Duncombe, IA. He graduated from Duncombe High School in 1953 and served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.

On September 12, 1959 Bob was united in marriage to Jo Ann Rogers, and from this union, four children were born. He worked at several companies, Pan-O-Gold, Erickson Dairy, and Old Home Bread, just to name a few. Bob enjoyed watching baseball and rooting for Iowa Hawkeye football.

He is survived by his four children, Jolene Stacconi, Virgina Beach, VA., Charles (Michael) Ball, Sioux City, IA., Janet Ball, Pine, CO., and Julie Vanderpool, Evergreen, CO; Granddaughter, Torri, three Grandsons, Robert, Kage and Drae and one great-grandchild, Zoe. Mother, Ruth Ball, Webster City, IA., brother, Norman Ball, Iowa City, IA; two sisters Janice Willardson, Overton, TX., Lois Cammerrer, Burnsville, MN.

Bob is preceded in death by his wife Jo Ann and father Leonard.
