Cheryl Lynn Johnson

Cheryl Lynn Johnson, 68, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Thursday, November 2, 2023, at her home.  Private family services will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.

Cheryl was born June 24, 1955, in Eagle Grove, IA, the daughter of Marvin and Gwendolyn (Stearns) Johnson.  She graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1973, and continued her education at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, where she earned her BA degree.  Cheryl worked as a City Planner at City Hall for the City of Fort Dodge until her retirement in 2015.  She was also a Foster Grandparent.  Cheryl enjoyed bird watching, reading magazines and taking photos.  She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church where she belonged to Adoration.

Cheryl is survived by her daughter:  Marjon Payvandi of Fort Dodge; her mother:  Gwendolyn Johnson of Eagle Grove; and 3 siblings:  Joe Johnson and wife Sandy of Mason City, John Johnson and wife Colleen of Belmond, IA and Sue DeCrane and husband Mark of Indiana.  She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father:  Marvin Johnson; and ex-husband:  Behrooz Payvandi.
