Cheryl Jean Sorenson

Cheryl Jean Sorenson, 66, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Saturday, November 1, 2025, at her home. Services will be scheduled at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge. 

Cheryl was born December 5, 1958, in Marceline, MO, the daughter of Burnley and Karen (Swan) Peterson. On October 18, 1991, she was united in marriage to Alvin Sorenson in Fort Dodge. Over the years, she worked for Rgis and Shoppers Supply. Cheryl enjoyed rock hunting, polishing rocks, tending to her flower gardens, playing Dr. Mario and watching TV with her daughter – especially “Murder She Wrote” and “Columbo”. She also enjoyed going for rides and taking road trips with her husband and daughter. You could call Cheryl anytime and she would be there with a helping hand.

Cheryl is survived by her daughter: Nicole Lee of Fort Dodge; ex son-in-law: Jeff Lee of Fort Dodge; 2 grandchildren: Anthony Lee and Brooklynn Lee; and 2 sisters: Donna Reis and husband Dudley of Lincoln, NE and Vivian Peterson of Denison, IA. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband in 2000.
