Clara Catherine Volf

Clara Catherine Volf, 94, of Fort Dodge, died Saturday January 1, 2011 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home with the Rev. James Meadows officiating.  Interment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.

Clara C. Vosika was born October 22, 1916 the daughter of John and Emma (Spirek) Vosika in Moorland, Iowa.  She graduated from Moorland High School.  On September 16, 1936 Clara was united in marriage to Ulric Volf at the First Congregational United Church of Christ.  To this union two children were born.  The couple resided on a farm near Moorland later moving to a farm north of Otho.  They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 16, 1986 and Ulric passed away on September 25, 1986.  Following Ulrics death Clara moved to an apartment in Fort Dodge and in April of 2010 she moved to the Fort Dodge Villa Care.

Clara was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ and lifetime member of the ZCBJ Lodge #39 of Fort Dodge.  Clara enjoyed and was very active in the Senior Citizens Center.

Those thankful for having shared in Claras life include her children, Charles (Jan) Volf of Ankeny, IA, Dorothy (Don) Rogers of Fort Dodge, IA, sister in law, Doris Vosika, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, several step grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Volf was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Helen, four brothers, John, Edmond and two infant boys.

Clara was loved by all for her great sense of humor.
