Clayton Duane Derrig

Clayton Duane Derrig, 83, of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2011 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Allen Henderson officiating.  Interment will follow in the North Lawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home.

Clayton was born April 4, 1928 the son of Patrick and Elsie (Straussberger) Derrig in Fort Dodge, Iowa.  On December 4, 1949 Clayton was united in marriage to Wilma Hedlund in Chamberlain, SD.

Clayton held his family above all and enjoyed his time he spent with each of them.  Over the years the family enjoyed going camping.  Wilma and Clayton loved going on cruises and going to Florida every winter.  He also had a talent for doing carpentry work spreading his talents through several houses he constructed.

Those thankful for having shared in Claytons life include his children; Matthew (Mary Lou) Derrig of Beverly Hills, FL, Kathleen (Jerry) Reeves of Otho, IA, three grandchildren; Sara, Aaron, Kristen, two step grandchildren; Betty, Raymond, and two step great grandchildren; Jolie, Marque Lace and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Derrig was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wilma, six sisters, Ruth, Maxine, Vangie, Mariah, Nina, Inez and one brother Patrick.
