Danny L. Lowe

Danny L. Lowe, 64, of Fort Dodge, died Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.

         

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Henderson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Colfax Township Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

         

Danny was born July 22, 1946 the son of Harold and Darlene (Yates) Lowe in Fort Dodge, IA.  On December 3, 1963 Danny was united in marriage to Joan Mae Wegman. To this union six children were born.

         

Danny was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed hunting and other outdoor activities.  As his health deteriorated he enjoyed watching all kinds of sports of TV.  Danny had a huge heart and over the years opened his house to many people who needed a place to stay.  He truly would give his shirt off his back for anyone.

         

Those thankful for having shared in Danny's life include his children, Danny Joe (Rosa) Lowe of Story City, IA, Tracie (Tom) Watts of Shell Rock, IA, Jeffrey (Charlotte) Lowe of MO, James Lowe of Fort Dodge, IA, Todd (Kandi) Lowe of Otho, IA, Nicholas (Dana) Lowe of Otho, IA, siblings, Butch Lowe, Sonny Lowe, Sissy Frazier, Georgia Vinsant, Tommy Lowe, Sherri Purcell, Michelle Patterson, eighteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

         

Mr. Lowe was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Joan, one sister, Nancy and one great grandson.
