David L. Lankford

David L. Lankford, 66, of Fort Dodge, IA, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at his home.  Cremation will take place and there will be no services at this time. There will be a memorial celebration at a later date.  Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.

David was born June 5, 1956 to Harry and Irene (Hanson) Lankford.  He was united in marriage to Elaine Ackerman, they were later divorced.  They had 2 sons Jon and Joe.  David served in the Army from 1974-1978.

David is survived by his sons Jon (Kara), children Ryan, Connor, Jason, and 5 step children, Joe (Mindy) children Shaye and Blake.  Sister Inez Slayman (Wally) of Montana and their families, brother Jay, Aunt Donna Lankford, several nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was proceeded in death by Brynn (infant grandson), his parents Harry and Irene Lankford, both Lankford and Hanson grandparents, sister and brother-in-law Louise and Darrell Ferry,

His mom always called Dave her Lone Wolf.  He was a loner most of his life.  He had struggle during his life, but he was able to find the Lord through the help of the Beacon of Hope Shelter's pastor and friends.

He loved to fish either by himself or with other family members.  One summer he took his nephew Scott and his wife Heather to all of his favorite fishing spots.  They will always have the wonderful memories of that day.
