DeAnn Knudson, age 53, of Waukee and formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away on September 6, 2020 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at the Badger Lutheran Church, with Rev. Scott Meier officiating. Burial will take place in the Pioneer Cemetery of rural Badger. Visitation will be 3:00 PM until service time on Saturday. The use of masks are encouraged and social distancing will be followed. The Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge is serving the family.
DeAnn Knudson, the daughter of Duane and Janet (Vinsand) Knudson, was born on February 14, 1967 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1987. DeAnn also got a degree as a CNA from Iowa Central Community College. She had worked at Burger King in Waukee, as a housekeeper at the Marriott Court Yard in West Des Moines and as a cook, waitress and cashier at Pickermans Deli in West Des Moines. DeAnn enjoyed being with her family, baking cookies at Christmas time, stomping grapes, following the Iowa Hawkeyes, camping and volunteering her time to help others. Her dog Claire and cat Lily were very special to her.
Left to cherish DeAnns memory is her mother, Janet Knudson of Fort Dodge; son, Tony Knudson of Minburn; significant other, Doug Glenn of Waukee; siblings, Kim Warren of Fort Dodge, Debra (Curtis) Eliason of Kanawha, Vicky (Bill) Knudson of Overland Park, KS, Rodney Knudson of Fort Dodge and Renee Knudson of Fort Dodge; a special cousin, April (Mike) Wyss of Des Moines; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents, Earl and Katheryn Knudson and Charles and Mildred Vinsand.
