Deborah "Deb" J. Shady

Deborah “Deb” J. Shady, 74, of Barnum, IA, died Monday, April 6, 2026, at her home. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date with inurnment at Lost Grove Cemetery in Gowrie, IA. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge. 

Deborah was born January 9, 1952, in Iowa, the daughter of Nellie (Edwards) and Forrest Shady. She graduated from Prairie High School in Gowrie. Deb was a homemaker who enjoyed a holistic lifestyle. She also enjoyed her ponies, taking care of her dog/companion, and crocheting.

Deb is survived by 3 children: Troy Busse and wife Mary of Guthrie Center, IA, Al Busse of Rochester, MN and Josie Williamson and husband Bruce of Columbia, IA; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and 3 siblings: Ronald Shady of Cincinnati, IA, Craig Shady and wife Mary of Longview, TX, and Russ Shady and wife Donna of Gowrie. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 grandchildren born silent; and 3 siblings: Randy Shady, Marty Shady and Crystal Shady.
