Doris Dorothy Ramsden, 88, of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday December 21, 2011 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday December 27, 2011 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

 

Doris was born September 6, 1923 the daughter of Frank and Emma (Jondle) Pliner in Elkhorn Township, Webster County. She graduated from Otho High School in 1940. She went on to get her teaching certificate and taught for one year realizing that teaching was not for her. On June 21, 1948 Doris was united in marriage to Ernest Ramsden. Over the years, the couple was known to collect many different things, but were most noted for their love of collecting antique cars and motorcycles. They were members of the Model T Club.

 

Doris had a great passion for music and would have something playing all the time at her home. She enjoyed dancing and traveling as well as playing cards. She was a very active member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Barnum. Doris enjoyed her gardens and was a member of the Garden Club.

 

Those thankful for having shared in Doris life include her children, Sharon (Carl) Plumb, Lloyd (Gayle Biggs) Ramsden, three grandchildren, David Plumb, Brenda Luke, David Ramsden, six great grandchildren, Emily, Jeff, Lucas, Alex, Wesley and Kailey.

 

Mrs. Ramsden was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, Robert Ramsden, one sister and one brother.
