Edith Toddy Lucas

Edith Elizabeth “Toddy” Lucas, 86, of Fort Dodge, died Monday June 20, 2011 at her home.

Visitation will be held from 3 until 5 p.m. Sunday June 26, 2011 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home. 

Toddy was born June 2, 1925 the daughter of Hugh and Ellen (Ray) Banwell in Fort Dodge, Iowa.  Following her high school education Toddy went on to attend Drake University.

On November 1, 1969 Toddy was united in marriage to Leslie Lucas in Pella, Iowa. Edith and Leslie enjoyed traveling and playing couples golf at the American Legion Golf Course. 

Toddy loved to read cookbooks and try new interesting recipes.  She enjoyed watching the birds, playing with the cats and working with her rose bushes.  She was an avid golfer who scored 2 hole-in-ones over her golfing career. 

Those thankful for having shared in Ediths life include her son Robert Klinger, one brother, William Banwell, three grandchildren, Joseph, Charles, Elizabeth, three great grandchildren, James, Kolby and Tristan.

Mrs. Lucas was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Margaret Banwell and a brother, John Banwell.
