Edward C. Lawson, 62, of Fort Dodge, died Saturday, November 14, 2009 at his residence.Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen Peters officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.Edward Clyde Lawson was born February 11, 1947 the son of Earl and Julia Lawson in Dallas, Texas. He enlisted in the United States Army on July 26, 1966 serving his country until his honorable discharge on September 4, 1971.Ed had a special talent for fixing and repairing small engines as well as being able to diagnose the problem by listening to the owner explain it to him. He enjoyed working on cars and spending time at his favorite fishing spot. Ed has also collected coins and stamps over the last several years. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1856 and a former den leader in the Cub Scout organization.Edward is survived by his children: Derek Lawson of Fort Dodge, Natalie, Patricia, three sisters: Donna (George) Hogan, Lori (Steve) Essing, Sue Essing, four brothers: Richard (Jamie) Lawson, Jim Lawson, Mike Lawson and Harry (Rhonda) Summers.Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Lyndee Lawson and a nephew Jimmy Lawson.
