Eileen J. Smith, 80, of Fort Dodge, died Saturday, December 09, 2006 at the Tompkins Memorial Health Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Grindberg officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center and continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Eileen was born May 5, 1926 the daughter of Edwin L. and Milla (Rhyne) Gustafson in Fort Dodge, IA.  She attended and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School.

On May 17, 1953 Eileen was united in marriage to Donald Bangert and was later united in marriage to Milton Smith on August 14, 1963.

Eileen loved working in her garden and preparing food for her family and friends.  She enjoyed crocheting and reading but her favorite pastime was her family.  Eileen was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church.

Those thankful for having shared in Eileens life include her children; Peggy Jensen and her husband Steven of Pocahontas, Donna Haupts and her husband Bob of Manson, Diana Ripperger and her husband Arnie of Urbandale, and Milton Smith, Jr. and his wife Deb of Harcourt, one sister; Evelyn Piltingsrud of Callender, seven grandchildren; Amanda and Alex Jensen, Natalie and Jeff Haupts, Allison and Michelle Ripperger, and Anthony “A.J.” Smith.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one brother Ansel, and one granddaughter Megan.
