Elsie Beck Miron

Elsie Beck Miron was born June 24, 1927 in Britt, Iowa to John and Pearl (Davis) Schleuger. She was the second oldest of ten children. As a small child, she moved with her family to Fort Dodge and attended school there. After school, she worked at Tobin Meat Packing. Elsie was united in marriage to Edward Kenneth Beck Sr. and to this union 8 children were born; Vicki, Molly, Tim, Kenny, Jaci, Kevin, Leslee and Loree. The couple later divorced. Elsie worked at Friendship Haven for many years, retiring in 1992. After retirement, she lived in Las Vegas and Canada and finally returning to Fort Dodge. Elsie was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church, she enjoyed Jeopardy, current events, watching ball games and fellowship. She was also active with Foster Grandparents and Volunteer VIP.

On September 15, 2015 Elsie Beck Miron died at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. She is survived by her children; Vicki Anderson of Fort Dodge, Molly (Bill) Green of Temple, TX, Tim (Nancy) Beck of Fort Dodge, Kenny (Cathy) Beck of Burnside, Jaci Millea of Webster City, Kevin Beck of Las Vegas, NV, Leslee (Mike) Vandenburg of Dyersville and Loree (Lloyd) Stewart of Palm Grove. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and a brother Floyd Schleuger of Johnsonville, SC and sisters; Helen Stanek of Fort Dodge, Alice Caldwell of Goose Creek, SC, Janis Wood of Fort Dodge and Fran Wood of Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pearl and four brothers; Clarence, Bob, Johnny and Tom.

Funeral services will be Friday September 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Nick Oliver officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
