Gene A. Hobart

Gene A. Hobart, 72, of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.             Visitation will be held Saturday, February 9, 2008 from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center.             Gene was born September 28, 1935 the son of Alvin and Martha Hobart in Fort Dodge, Iowa.  On April 26, 1954 Gene was inducted into the United States Army serving his country until his honorable discharge on June 5, 1957.             Gene was a diesel mechanic by trade but a carpenter by passion.  He enjoyed his wood working projects as well as working with his friend Steve fixing up houses and reselling them.  He was a collector of coins, mini cars and all sorts of tools.  He looked forward to meeting with his coffee group and was always ready for a good debate.             Gene is survived by his wife Norma, three children; Mark Hobart, Michelle (Brad) Gray, Sieggs (Sonia) Hobart, one brother; Fritz (Joyce) Hobart, one uncle; Les Liner and seven grandchildren.             Mr. Hobart was preceded in death by his parents.
