Gwen Marie Kenyon, 97, of Fort Dodge, died Monday December 29, 2008 at her home in the Marian Village.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday January 2, 2009 at the Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev Matthew Martens officiating.  Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday at the church.

Gwen was born on June 28, 1911 in Davenport, Iowa.  She was later adopted by Ora & Bessie (Warren) Stilwell.  Gwen graduated of Fort Dodge Senior High in 1931.

Gwen was united in marriage to Robert Parker Kenyon on June 28th, 1936 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Fort Dodge, Iowa.  To this union three children were born.

Gwen worked at Gates Department Store for a number of years.

Gwen Kenyon was a huge sports fan.  She was especially a big fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and was looking forward to watching the bowl game. 

Gwen was a member of Grace Lutheran Church were she was involved in numerous activities including the Willing Workers.  She was also a member of the Christian Womens Club. Gwen was a past president of the Fort Dodge Garden Club and won numerous blue ribbons at the fair. 

Those thankful for having shared in Gwens life include her children; Sandi (James) Witte of Callender, Iowa and their children; Rachel and Jake, Dave Kenyon and his children Tim and Brian and one great granddaughter; Keeley.

Gwen Kenyon was preceded in death by her parents Ora and Bessie Stilwell, her husband Robert Kenyon and daughter Andrea Witte.  Memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church.
