Jemima Johnson, 93, of Fort Dodge died Tuesday, January 3, 2005 at the Gowrie Care Center after being a resident there since July of 2002.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 5, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge with Rev. David Grindberg officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.  Burial will follow the service at North Lawn Cemetery, Fort Dodge.

“Jim” was born on January 25, 1912 in Holmes, Iowa the daughter of Jon and Lydia (Peterson) Jermeland.  On April 30, 1939 she was united in marriage to Herald Johnson in the St. Olaf Lutheran Church.  Harold later preceded her in death in 1991.

Before moving to Fort Dodge in 1923, Jim attended Eagle Grove and Florence Country Schools through the 8th grade.  After her school days she worked at Marso-Rodenborn Clothing Manufacture in Fort Dodge until her marriage to Harold.  

Jemima was a wonderful mother and mother-in-law who loved to sew, read, shop and spend time with her family and friends.  She had many happy times playing cards with her family and will be deeply missed.

Jim is survived by her children Linda (Damon) Davis of Harcourt, Iowa, Art (Rose) Johnson of Fort Dodge, Jean (Roger) Douglas of Fort Dodge, Richard (B.J.) Johnson of Georgia and Marilyn Johnson of Fort Dodge; sister Mae Dewey of Fort Dodge and her brother Dan Johnson of Fort Dodge.  She is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Harold Johnson; brother Sam Jermeland; and sisters Thelma Breeden and Ella Monson.
