Jerry S. Sorenson, 68, of Fort Dodge died Monday, March 28, 2005 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, April 1, 2005 at Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Officiating will be the Rev. Darryl L. Landsverk. Interment will follow in the Fort Dodge Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors conducted by the VFW Post 1856. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm, Thursday at the funeral home.

Jerry was born September 22, 1936 to John and Dorothy (Johnson) Sorenson in Humboldt, IA.

In May of 1964 Jerry was united in marriage to Mary Lavender. He retired from USG after devoting 33 years of service.

Jerry loved riding his Harley, crafting wood working, fishing, and reading Westerns. He enjoyed playing with the neighbors dog Pepper, working in his yard, and being in the outdoors. He truly looked for ward to his time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his 6 children, Teresa Roberts of Fort Dodge, Steven Bige of Fort Dodge, Kevin and his wife Carla Bige of Duncombe, Lisa and her husband Terry LaCaille of Fort Dodge, Scott Sorenson and fiancé Anne Erickson of Boone, IA, Todd and his wife Tiffany Sorenson of Badger; siblings; Doris Quillen, Richard Sorenson, Jack Sorenson, and Joanne Miller, brother in law; Bill and his wife Sandy Lavender of Webster City, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary, son, Trent; 2 brothers, Alvin and Gerald Sorenson; 1 sister, Helen Evears.
