Funeral Services for Johnny L. Schleuger 83 of Fort Dodge will be Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Rolling Hills Community Church in Fort Dodge with Rev. David Barton and Rev. Floyd Schleuger officiating.  Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 4pm until 7pm at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge.  Visitation will continue at the church prior to services on Wednesday.  Johnny died Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Johnny L. Schleuger Jr. was born December 9, 1930 in Lime Springs, Iowa to John and Rosetta Pearl (Davis) Schleuger.  The family lived in Lime Springs for a short time before moving to Britt and then finally settling in Fort Dodge.  Johnny was known by many throughout Fort Dodge.  You could always spot Johnny helping his father on the sanitation truck.  Johnny loved to ride horses drive wagons and barrel race.  Johnny won many blue ribbons in Special Olympics There wasnt a John Wayne or Roy Rogers movie that he missed.  Johnny also liked to plunk the guitar and sing. He is survived by his siblings; Elsie Miron of Fort Dodge, Helen (Laurin) Stanek of Fort Dodge, Alice Caldwell of Goose Creek, SC, Rev. Floyd (Bonnie) Schleuger of Johnsonville, SC, Janis (Walter) Wood of Fort Dodge, and Frances (Bill) Wood of Fort Dodge.  He is also survived by one aunt, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers; Clarence, Tom and Bob. The family extends a “special thank you” to the staffs at Oak Estates and Life Estates for all the kindness shown toward Johnny.
