Joseph R. Daniel, 76, died Monday, February 9, 2026, in Texas. Funeral services are pending. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge. 

Joseph (Joe) Daniel was born on October 24, 1949, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. His parents were Madeline R. Daniel and George D. Daniel. Joe attended Duncombe Elementary School, North Junior High, and Fort Dodge Senior High. He is preceded in death by his parents. Joe is survived by his older brother, George F. Daniel and sister-in-law Mayra Daniel; younger sister, Linda Daniel; nephew Martin Daniel and wife Michelle Daniel; niece Ani Daniel, her husband Alberto Diaz, and their son Aidan Diaz; and many cousins.

Joe was a bright and creative child. He enjoyed fishing with his friends and cousins, waterskiing with his siblings, photography, archery, electronics, target practicing, music, and family vacations. As a young man, Joe and his mother opened and operated Joseph’s Hobbies and Crafts on Central Avenue in Fort Dodge. He spent his later years in Denver, Colorado, and Dallas, Texas, to be near his sister.

Ahead of his time, Joe embraced natural and alternative health practices. He studied massage, reflexology, palmistry, nutrition, and the benefits of natural foods and herbs. Joe had a kind and generous spirit with a passion for helping people improve their well-being. He used adversity to increase his compassion for others and fuel the pursuit of his goals. Joe deeply loved his extended family and circle of friends. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Joe had a gentle, loving spirit, always giving of himself. He exemplified 1. 2 Corinthians 9:7

“God loves a cheerful giver.”
