Joyce I. Reynolds, 85, of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday, September 9, 2011 at the Tompkins Memorial Health enter.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the Celebration Center, Friendship Haven with the Rev. Anita Johnson officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Rockwell City, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
Joyce was born July 18, 1926 in Lake City, Iowa the daughter of Ben and Lillian (Barkmeier) Hildreth. She graduated from Rockwell City High School in 1944. On February 16, 1946, she was united in marriage to Donald Reynolds in Rockwell City, upon his return from WWII.
Joyce worked at the Cedar Valley School District in addition to raising her family and assisting her husband with farming. They farmed in Calhoun and Webster Counties for 43 years. Joyce was a member of Iowa B.E. T.T.T. and the United Methodist Women%uFFFDs Fellowship of Farnhamville and also sang in the church choir in Iowa and in Arizona for many years, loving music her entire life. In 1989 they retired to Apache Junction, Arizona. They later returned to Fort Dodge and lived at Friendship Haven.
Survivors include daughters, Dianne (Mike) Kahl of Callender, Iowa, Sue (Jim) Peterson of Farnhamville, Iowa, Julie (Phillip) Schultz of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, son David (Linda) Reynolds of Peoria, Illinois, a brother, Martin (Peg) Hildreth of Rockwell City, Ten grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many relatives and friends.
Mrs. Reynolds was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Don.
