Funeral Services for Lawrence (Larry) W. Vrchoticky 60 of Fort Dodge will be Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge.  Visitation will be Thursday 11a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.  Larry died Saturday, September 27, 2014 in Shakopee, Minnesota.

Lawrence (Larry) Wesley Vrchoticky was born August 6, 1954 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Gary and Sonya (Dahleen) Vrchoticky.  He was baptized and received his first communion at Corpus Christi in Fort Dodge.  The family later moved to Phoenix, AZ where Larry graduated from West High School in 1973.  He was united in marriage to Roxane Elaine Smith on March 21, 1973  in Yuma, Arizona . To this union four children were born; Brandy Lee, Sean Michael, Lawrence Clinton, and Tabitha Shree.

Larry owned and operated Valcom Technologies and Fusion Technologies which are computer and telephone IT providers.  From 1980-1988 he was a volunteer fire fighter starting in Urbandale then transferring to the West Des Moines Fire Department. Larry was also a MDA Volunteer in Des Moines for five years.  He was active in the Hawkeye Community Theatre from 1991 – 2010 where he was on stage as well as served on the board of directors. Larry was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Green Bay Packer fan.

He is survived by his wife Roxane of Fort Dodge, his children; Brandy Lee Vrchoticky of Fort Dodge, Sean (Heather) Vrchoticky of Nebraska, Lawrence Clinton (Sheila) Vrchoticky of Des Moines and Tabitha (Jason) Pullman of Des Moines, 8 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren; Kiana, Christopher, Gabriel, Elaina, Adam, Seth, Luke and Autumn. He also had numerous friends of the family that called him dad, as well as their children referring to him as grandpa. He is also survived by his father and step-mother Gary (Georgia) Vrchoticky of Sun City, Arizona , and sister Vickie Dietaker of Virginia.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother Sonya, brother Edward and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
