Leeora D. Prather

Leeora D. Prather, 77, of Fort Dodge, died Sunday September 5, 2010 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice House.

         

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2010 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home with the Rev. Anita Johnson, Chaplain of Friendship Haven, officiating.  Interment will follow in the Fulton Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

         

Leeora was born January 26, 1933 the daughter of Leo and Letita (Custer) Schuster in Otho, Iowa.  She worked for many years in housekeeping at Friendship Haven as well as in the circulation department at the Messenger. 

         

Leeora loved to entertain her family and friends.  She enjoyed gardening and canning her many bountiful harvests.  Leeora looked forward to playing cards with her card club and attending church activities.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fort Dodge.

          

Those thankful for having shared in Leeoras life include her children, Rosemary (Michael) Butler of Evanston, IA, Marilyn (Dana) Olson of Fort Dodge, IA, Wayne (Susan) Prather of Indianola, IA, Carolyn (Todd) Clark of Fort Dodge, IA, Cynthia (Roger) Thies of Fort Dodge, IA, one sister, Francis (Duane) Onnen of Phoenix, AZ, one brother, Daniel (Jeanine) Schuster of Humboldt, IA, seven grandchildren, Sharie Stufflebean, Jill Davis, Jared Prather, Sara Prather, Amanda Baker, Shanda Birkett, Megan Thies, six great grandchildren, Kase Baker, Klara Baker, Klay Baker, Emma Davis, Madilyn Davis and Ashlynn Prather.

         

Mrs. Prather was preceded in death by her parents and husband Dale.
