Leola “Belle” Jeffers Rice 99 of Walnut, Iowa formerly of Fort Dodge, died August 3, 2018 at her home in Walnut, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge with Rev David Barton officiating. Visitation will from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. A luncheon will be served at Rolling Hills Community Church immediately following the graveside services.
Belle was born and raised in Fort Dodge and lived most of her life here. She was united in marriage to Russell A. Rice and to this union four children were born; Beverly, Betty, Susan and Russell Charles. She worked for Central Lab, and Phillips Electronics in Fort Dodge, retiring in 1985.She was a member of Rolling Hills Community Church where she was active with children's programs for many years. Belle was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Opal Jeffers, her husband Russell, daughter Beverly, and her siblings; Clarence, John, Dale, Lyle, Edward, Delores, Betty and Shirley Mae.
She is survived by her children; Betty Lou (Larry) Roberts of Walnut, Ia, Susan Gail (Rodney) Irwin of Fort Dodge and Russell Charles (Peggy) of Dakota City, Ia. 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Elmer Jeffers, Adrian Jeffers, Irma Darlene and Kay.
Memorials will at the discretion of the family.
