Lucille E. Herrington

Lucille Estal Herrington, 92, of Burnside, died Thursday January 8, 2009 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center, Fort Dodge.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Lehigh Christian Church with Pastor Richard L. Laird officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 until service time on Monday at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

At the families request memorials may be directed to the Lehigh Christian Church.

Lucille was born September 30, 1916 the daughter of Robert and Ferne (Ellsbury) Lumsden in Lehigh, Iowa. On October 28, 1933 Lucille was united in marriage to Delbert Harold Herrington in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Lucille loved to sew, quilt and bake pies for Senior Citizens. She was an active volunteer with hospice and participated in many church activities. Lucille was very family oriented. She was a life member of the Rebecca Lodge and Senior Citizens in which she was a past president. Lucille was also a member of the Lehigh Memories Senior Group and the Lehigh Christian Church.

Those thankful for having shared in Lucilles life include her children; Ronald (Marge) Herrington of Humboldt, Donald (Georgia) Herrington of Burnside, Jack Herrington of Fort Dodge, one brother; Lloyd (Betty) Lumsden of Fort Dodge, six grandchildren; Michelle, Dee, Stacey, Steven, Denise, Michael, thirteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Herrington was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Delbert, one granddaughter; Susan, one great grandson, daughter in law; Mary Louise Herrington, five sisters; Wanda Safley, Alta Fuhrman, Hazel Yates, Opal Lohrbach, Gladys Castagnoli, three brothers; John, Joe and Morris Lumsden.
