Marietta Jane Petty

Marietta Jane Petty, 77, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at the Marian Home. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Marietta was born March 16, 1942, in Unionville, MO, the daughter of John Ober and Pansy (Womack) Bruce. She attended country school. On June 7th she was united in marriage to Gary Rex Petty. Marietta worked as a nurse for many years. She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, sewing and canning.

Marietta is survived by 5 children: Jeanie Nicholson and husband Mike or Corydon, IA, Gary Allen Petty of Leon, IA, Jimmy Petty of wife Dina of Leon, Peggy Wood of Attica, OH, and Connie Snow and husband Greg of Fort Dodge; 10 grandchildren: Justin, Misty, Joe, Hali, Cassie, Kyle, Brittany, Kilee, Cody and Lacey; and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2002; a son in infancy: Bobby; daughter-in-law: Marla Petty; and 21 siblings.
