Marjorie “Kay” Marcotte, 81, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Thursday, March 19, 2026, with family and under the care of St. Croix hospice. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 23, 2026, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, 923 1st Avenue South, with Rev. Luke Fillmore officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. A private immediate family inurnment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.
Marjorie was born October 5, 1944, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Grace Jones. She attended Fort Dodge Senior High. In 1991, she was united in marriage to James Marcotte. Kay worked at Trinity Regional Medical Center (Environmental Services) for 16 years. Kay enjoyed dancing and was a former go-go dancer. She also enjoyed bowling, playing pool and Yahtzee, crafting, and BINGO. Above all, Kay enjoyed spending time with her family.
Kay is survived by 3 children: Bridget Jones and husband Mark Martinson of Fort Dodge, Bradley Jones and wife Danielle of Fort Dodge, and Laura “Lori” Walsh and husband Brian of Fort Dodge; 11 grandchildren: Brittany McBride, Darien Walsh and wife Amaia, Aubrey Walsh, Malory Fowler, Seth Fowler, Lydia Fowler, Grace Martinson, Whitney Comstock and husband Tyson, Chipper Cisco, Jaxson Lowrey-Jones and Lunden Lowrey-Jones; and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Grace Cappele; her husband: James Marcotte in 1996; 2 brothers: John Paul Jones and Allen “Butch” Jones; and her 3 cousins, who were like sisters to her: Jane Parks, Jerry Weaver, and Linda Walker.
