Markasia “Kasia” Malae McCuddin, 26, of Ames, IA and formerly of Fort Dodge, IA, died Friday, March 13, 2026, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, 923 1st Avenue South – Fort Dodge, with Rev. Dan Kahl officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home. Interment will take place at North Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.
Markasia was born January 4, 2000, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Lisa Ann McCuddin and Michael Cabbell. She attended Fort Dodge Senior High. Kasia worked various jobs but her absolute favorite was being a caregiver. She truly enjoyed helping others. She also enjoyed the outdoors and relaxing by the pool. Above all, she loved being with her son. Liam was her whole world.
Kasia is survived by her grandmother: Rebecca “Becky” McCuddin (Buck) of Fort Dodge; father: Michael (Rose) Cabbell of Omaha, NE; grandfather: Mark McCuddin (Danielle) of Sioux City, IA; grandfather; Edward Cabbell of Omaha; great grandmother: Delores McCuddin of Sioux City; siblings: Davontrez McCuddin, Nimiagn Cabbell, Aliah Wood, Michel Stephens, Karolyn Anderson, Zachariah Anderson; aunts & uncles: Jennifer McCuddin (Kane) of Otho, IA, Contessa (Ehren) Miller of Fort Dodge, Jason Hoogland of Fort Dodge, and Yolanda Avant of Omaha. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.
She was preceded in death with her son: Liam Sanders-McCuddin. She is also preceded in death by her mother: Lisa Ann McCuddin; brothers: Jamael Cox and Tyre Sorenson; uncle: Damone Avant; grandmother: Sylvia Cabbell; great grandfather: Eldon McCuddin; and great grandmother: Rose Dahl.
