Memorial services for Mary E. Rowe 70 of Des Moines, formerly of Fort Dodge will be Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 1:30 pm at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be from 11:30 until time of service. She died April 29, 2013 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.

Mary Ellen Rowe was born August 14, 1942 in Fort Dodge Iowa to Clyde and Gretchen (Dittmer) Ewing. She grew up in Fort Dodge and attended schools there. She was united in marriage to Glen Weiss and to this union five sons were born; Rick, Robert, Roger, Randy and Jimmy. Mary worked at Globe Union and then Automatic Service Center in Fort Dodge for several years. On June 3, 1994 she was united in marriage to William Rowe. The couple settled in Des Moines where Mary worked for C.D.S. She retired in 2007. In March of this year Mary suffered a stroke and has been a resident at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center for the past six weeks. Mary enjoyed flowers and her cats, Precious and Callie. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends on the deck at her home. Mary extended her giving personality, even upon her death as she was a donor to Iowa Tissue Network. She is survived by her children: Rick (Jackie) Weiss of Webster City, Robert Weiss of Fort Dodge, and Roger Weiss and fiancé; Lora Johnson of Fort Dodge. She is also survived by one sister, Cheryl (Jerry) Lawton of Fort Dodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Randy and Jimmy, brother Jerry and second husband William.
